Why it matters

Committees change. The masjid's records should not leave with them.

Mosque committees, trustees and madrasa teachers serve for a season. When donors, banks and the Registrar of Societies only know a secretary's personal email, the contact goes when the secretary does. An address on the mosque's own domain keeps the correspondence with the jamaat.

Appeals donors can trust

Building, iftar and relief appeals are a target for impersonators. When every genuine appeal comes from treasurer@ or zakat@ on your domain and names the official account, donors can tell the difference.

Every committee reachable

The imam, madrasa, zakat committee, youth and sisters' committee each get an address, so a question reaches whoever holds that responsibility this year.

Trust and waqf records kept together

Letters to trustees, the Waqf Commission, banks and partners stay in a mailbox the mosque controls, ready for the next committee and the next audit.

Try it

Build your mosque's email addresses

Type the mosque's name, pick the committees you run, and see the addresses your community will use.

.or.ke is the extension for non-profit organisations (free with the package). A madrasa or Islamic school registered with the Ministry of Education can use .sc.ke (free with the package), and .co.ke is open to anyone (free with the package).

Assalamu alaikum,

Please find attached this year's iftar programme and the list of sponsorship slots. Contributions go only to the mosque account named in the attachment; the committee will never ask for money on a personal number.

Estimate

Will 20 GB be enough for your mosque?

Mailboxes are unlimited, so storage is the number to watch. Move the slider to your headcount and pick how much mail each person keeps.

Estimates only. We reserve 1 GB for a website. Clearing old attachments once a year stretches the space a long way.

Questions

Mosque email, answered

Which domain should our mosque use?
.or.ke is the extension for non-profit organisations, and it suits a mosque, Islamic centre or trust. KENIC may ask for proof of registration, such as your certificate from the Registrar of Societies, and we send it for you. A .or.ke domain is free with the package. An Islamic school registered with the Ministry of Education can use .sc.ke instead.
What exactly does KES 3,000 a year include?
A free .co.ke, .or.ke, .sc.ke or .ac.ke domain, unlimited email accounts on it, 20 GB of storage shared by the mailboxes and a website, free SSL, setup of your mailboxes by our team, and 24/7 support. Prices exclude 16% VAT, so the yearly invoice is KES 3,480.
How do official addresses help with donation fraud?
Impersonators use mosque names to collect money on personal numbers, especially during Ramadan and after disasters. If every genuine appeal and receipt comes from your mosque's domain and names the one official account, the community has a simple rule: anything else is not from the mosque.
Can the madrasa teachers have addresses too?
Yes. There is no per-user fee, so every teacher and committee member can have one. All mailboxes and the website share 20 GB of storage, which is plenty for a typical mosque. Use the estimator on this page to check.
Can we take nikah and event bookings by email?
Yes. Give bookings their own address, such as nikah@ or events@, and put it on the website and notice board. Whoever handles bookings this year reads that inbox, and the record stays with the mosque.
We already use a Gmail address. What happens to it?
Keep it running while you move over. Announce the new addresses, update bank and social media logins, and set an auto-reply on the old account pointing people to the new one. Our support team can help you through it.
Can we put a mosque website on the same package?
Yes. The package is a full hosting account with free SSL, so a website with prayer times, madrasa classes, events and donation details can run on the same domain. Recorded lectures are best kept on YouTube and embedded, which saves your storage for email.
Who owns the domain and mailboxes?
The mosque. The domain is registered in the mosque's or trust's name and the committee decides who holds the admin login. If you ever change provider, the domain and your addresses move with you.
