Why it matters

Members trust you with their savings. Your email should look like it.

Loan applications, guarantor forms, dividend notices and AGM papers move by email. When they go through an officer's personal Gmail, members cannot tell a real message from a scam, and the Sacco loses the record when the officer leaves.

Harder to impersonate

Tell members that genuine mail only ever comes from your domain. A message from a free webmail address asking them to "update details" is then easy to spot as fraud.

Members' financial data protected

How safe is the way your Sacco talks to members?

Tick what is already in place. Items marked "In the package" are handled by the package itself.

Which domain should our Sacco use?

A Sacco can use .co.ke, the extension Kenyans know from businesses, which is free with the package. Saccos that present themselves as member organisations sometimes choose .or.ke, which is free with the package. Whichever you pick, publish it everywhere so members know which emails are genuine.

What exactly does KES 3,000 a year include?

A free .co.ke, .or.ke, .sc.ke or .ac.ke domain, unlimited email accounts on it, 20 GB of storage shared by the mailboxes and a website, free SSL, setup of your mailboxes by our team, and 24/7 support. Prices exclude 16% VAT, so the yearly invoice is KES 3,480.

Can every officer and branch have its own address?

Yes. There is no per-user fee. The limit is the 20 GB of storage every mailbox and the website share. Use the estimator on this page for your numbers, and if you outgrow it we move you to a bigger plan without changing your addresses.

Can members get email addresses on our domain?

We do not recommend it. Thousands of member mailboxes would quickly fill the storage and blur who speaks for the Sacco. Keep the domain for staff, officials and branches.

How does our own domain help against fraud?

It gives members a simple rule: genuine Sacco email only comes from your domain. Combined with a clear notice that staff never ask for PINs or payments to personal numbers, impersonation becomes much easier to spot.

What happens to the board's email after elections?

Role addresses such as chair@ and secretary@ stay with the Sacco. After the AGM you change the password and hand them to the new office holders, with the full history intact.

We already use Gmail. What happens to it?

Keep it running while you move over. Update statements, forms and your website to the new address, change logins for bank portals and check-off employers, and set an auto-reply on the old one. Our support team can walk you through each step.

Can our website run on the same package?

Yes. The package is a full hosting account with free SSL, so a website with your products, by-laws and AGM notices can run on the same domain. If you would like us to build it, ask about our website design service.
